Our Nursing Team

Joanne Bannister (f)
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
BSc (Hons), MSc, RGN
Diabetes, Family Planning
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) is a highly skilled registered nurse with advanced training, enabling them to assess, treat, prescribe, and refer patients just like a GP. ANPs provide comprehensive, patient-centred care across a variety of clinical settings. Additionally, our trained care navigators (reception staff) will signpost you accordingly to ensure you see the right professional for your needs, helping you get the best possible care quickly and efficiently, this may mean you see the ANP instead of a GP.
Our nursing team consists of qualified nurses who can prescribe medications, registered practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and phlebotomists. Practice nurses are experienced professionals who can help with a wide range of health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks, and wound dressings. They also run clinics for long-term conditions like asthma and diabetes, conduct minor ailment clinics, and carry out cervical smears.

Together, our nursing staff provide comprehensive care and support to help you manage your health effectively. Whether you need treatment, monitoring, or routine procedures like blood tests, our team is here to ensure you receive high-quality, patient-centred care every step of the way.

Our Patient Support Teams – Reception, Administration & Secretarial Staff
Our Patient Care Team is your first point of contact for your healthcare needs. Whether you’re calling, visiting, or messaging us, our reception, administration, and secretarial teams work in separate but closely connected roles to ensure you receive the right care at the right time.
Reception
Our reception team plays a vital role in linking patients with the practice. They are your initial point of contact for general enquiries, helping to guide you through the healthcare system. They can provide basic information on services, test results, and direct you to the most appropriate clinician or service based on your needs. Our trained care navigators are skilled at signposting patients to the right care pathway efficiently and confidentially.
Administration
Our admin team works behind the scenes to keep the practice running smoothly. They manage incoming correspondence, process patient registrations and send out invitations for routine health reviews and screenings. Their work ensures all patient records are up to date and accurate.
Secretarial Team
Our secretaries support the clinical team by managing medical correspondence, processing referrals, and ensuring timely communication between the practice and other healthcare providers. They help coordinate care and ensure patients are referred promptly and appropriately.
Together, these teams form the backbone of our practice, working collaboratively to maintain a professional, welcoming, and patient-centred environment. We are proud to be part of the local community and are committed to providing the highest standard of support throughout your healthcare journey.
Our Lenwade Team
At Lenwade, our small but experienced team truly does it all. With over 25 years of combined service, we handle everything from booking appointments and answering patient queries to dispensing medication, managing prescriptions, and supporting finance, admin, and clinical tasks.
Between us, we cover reception, dispensary, typing, and general administration, working closely with the wider team at Mattishall to ensure smooth, coordinated care across both sites.

Our PCN Staff
As part of our commitment to delivering joined-up, personalised care, we are proud to have in-house staff provided through our Primary Care Network (PCN), including a GP Assistant (GPA) and a Care Co-ordinator.
GP Assistant (GPA)
Our GPA is medically trained and plays a key role in supporting our GPs. They help manage a large volume of clinical correspondence that comes into the practice, ensuring it is reviewed and actioned efficiently. The GPA also liaises closely with our GPs, helping to streamline workflow and free up time for patient care. In some cases, they may also assist with clinical observations and administrative preparation for consultations.
Care Co-ordinator
Our Care Co-ordinator plays a vital role in supporting patients with complex or long-term health conditions. They help ensure that care is well-organised and tailored to individual needs by coordinating between different health and social care services. They also support patients in understanding and managing their care plans and appointments, helping them stay on track with their treatment and health goals.
Together, our PCN team enhances the care we provide by improving access, continuity, and support for patients who need more focused or ongoing help.

They also manage hospital letters and any medication changes following hospital visits, helping to keep your treatment safe and up to date.
Our Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the team by preparing and processing prescriptions, assisting with medication reviews, and helping patients with any medicine-related queries.
